Bike Experience Portugal em Espanha na La Indurain

Ontem participámos na 25ª edição da Marcha Cicloturistica Miguel Indurain.

Esta prova teve a sua primeira edição em 1992, como forma de honrar a primeira vitoria de Miguel Indurain no Tour de França em 1991.

Tínhamo-nos deslocado a Pamplona para a apresentação dos modelos de 2018 da Pinarello e fomos convidados pela marca a estar presentes na La Indurain que se realiza todos os anos em Villava, cidade natal do ciclista. É claro que não podíamos recusar este convite, e mesmo com o pouco treino e a falta de descanso alinhámos à partida.

Na noite anterior, tivemos o prazer de jantar e conversar um pouco com o próprio Miguel Indurain e com Purito Rodriguez.  

No dia da prova, acordámos às 6h00 (5h00 portuguesas) e com apenas 4 horas de sono, começámos a preparar-nos. Pequeno almoço tomado, e às 7h00 juntámo-nos ao pelotão da Pinarello Ibérica que seguia em bicicleta do hotel para a partida.

Utilizámos para esta prova, uma Pinarello GAN equipada com Shimano Ultegra Di2. Uma bicicleta extremamente reativa, que rola muito bem e com uma resposta brutal a subir. A descer a aerodinâmica do quadro é tão fabulosa que atingiu os 95 Km/h.

Às 8h30, tiro de partida! Iniciei a prova com os objetivos de sempre: divertir-me sem nenhum percalço e aproveitar ao máximo a experiência. Os primeiros 10 Km foram em andamento controlado, mas assim que o andamento ficou livre, as coisas aqueceram. Seguiram-se 30 Km rolantes com algum sobe e desce, que terminaram com uma média de 47 Km/h. Logo de seguida começaram as dificuldades, e na primeira subida tive de deixar o grupo da frente, seguindo depois com um segundo grupo, onde permaneci até ao final.

Uma prova muito bem organizada, com paisagens deslumbrantes e uma dificuldade adequada à distancia escolhida (participámos no recorrido corto, o equivalente ao nosso Mediofondo). Foram 100 Km com média de quase 34Km/h e 1300m de desnível +. No fim ainda deu para um 54 lugar na geral.

Para o ano estaremos de volta e quem sabe se não levaremos alguns amigos connosco!!!

Yesterday we participated in the 25th edition of the La Indurain.

This event had its first edition in 1992, as a way to honor the first victory of Miguel Indurain in the Tour de France in 1991.

We had moved to Pamplona for the presentation of the 2018 models of Pinarello and we were invited by the brand to be present at the La Indurain that takes place every year in Villava, hometown of the cyclist. Of course we could not refuse this invitation, and even with the little training and lack of rest we aligned at the start.

The night before, we had the pleasure of having dinner and talking a little with Miguel Indurain himself and with Purito Rodriguez.

On the day of the race, we woke up at 6:00 a.m. (5:00 a.m.) and with only 4 hours of sleep, we began to prepare ourselves. Breakfast was taken, and at 7:00 am we joined the Pinarello Ibérica squad.

We used a Pinarello GAN equipped with Shimano Ultegra Di2. An extremely reactive bike, which rolls very well and with a brutal response to climb. The downhill aerodynamics of the frame is so fabulous that it reached 95 km / h.

At 8:30 a.m., the race begins! I started the race with my usual goals: to enjoy myself without any problems and to make the most of the experience. The first 10 km were under controlled speed by the pace car, but as soon as the race opened, things got hotter. It followed 30 km rolling with some rise and descents, which ended with an average of 47 km / h. Soon the difficulties began, and on the first climb I had to leave the front group, followed by a second group, where I stayed until the end.

A very well organized race, with breathtaking scenery and an adequate difficulty at the chosen distance (we participated in the short circuit, the equivalent of our Mediofondo). They were 100 km with an average of almost 34Km / h and 1300m clinbing. In the end a 54th place overall.

For the year we will be back and maybe we will take some friends with us !!!
