Arrábida - Azeitão - Setúbal por estrada / by road

Volta com 45 km totalmente feita por estrada, com saída de Setúbal pela N 10 em direcção a Azeitão. Antes da subida das necessidades, viramos à esquerda em rumo ao vale da Rasca e antes da Sécil, subimos a Arrábida pelas "antenas". 

Paragem quase obrigatória no miradouro norte, onde em dias de céu limpo, é possível avistar Lisboa.

A paisagem na crista da serra é deslumbrante, com um enorme vale à direita e o Oceano Atlantico à esquerda.

Iniciando a descida em direcção a Azeitão, passamos pelo Convento da Arrábida e mais à frente pela quinta do Alambre.

Em Azeitão, podemos escolher entre os vários cafés que existem no centro da vila para nos deliciarmos com a doçaria regional.

O regresso é feito pela N 10 em direcção a Setúbal.

45 km bike ride entirely by road, leaving Setúbal throug the N 10 towards Azeitão. Before the "necessidades" climb, we turn left on towards the valley of Rasca and before Secil, we go up to Arrábida torwards the transmission center.

Almost mandatory to stop in the north view point, where on a clear day, one can see Lisbon.

The landscape in the Sierra crest is stunning, with a huge valley on the right and the Atlantic Ocean on the left.

Starting the descent towards Azeitão, passing by the Arrábida Convent and later the Alambre farm.

In Azeitão, we can choose among the various cafes that exist in the village center to the delighting with regional sweets.

The return by the N 10 towards Setúbal.

Arrábida Miradouro Norte - Northern viewpoint of Arrábida

Hoje começamos o dia com uma visita ao miradouro Norte da Serra da Arrábida.

Partida de Setúbal pela N10 com saída para a estrada da Rasca e subida à Arrábida pelo lado das antenas, para evitar o transito dos madrugadores que vão para a praia.

Vista magnifica embora hoje ligeiramente nublada, não permitindo avistar a ponte Sobre o Tejo.

O regresso foi feito pela comenda entrando em Setúbal pela Av. Luísa Tody.

We begin the day with a visit to the northern viewpoint of Arrábida.

Starting from Setúbal through the N10 exiting to the Rasca road and climbing to Arrábida by the transmition center road to avoid the traffic of the early birds who go to the beach.

Magnificent view although slightly cloudy today, not allowing sight of the bridge over the Tagus.

The return was made Comenda, entering Setubal at Av. Luisa Tody.

Ida e volta ao Portinho da Arrábida pelas praias. Portinho da Arrábida through the beaches.

Ida ao Portinho da Arrábida ao longo da linha costeira passando pelas praias de Albarquel, Figueirinha, Galapos e Creiro e regresso pelo mesmo trajecto. Durante os meses de verão, é a volta ideal para fazer logo de manhã, evitando assim o transito para as praias e o calor.

Pontos de interesse: Portinho da Arrábida, Museu Oceanográfico e Lapa de Santa margarida.

Bike ride to Portinho da Arrábida along the coastline past the beaches of Albarquel, Figueirinha, Galapos and Creiro and return by the same route. During the summer months is the ideal ride to do early in the morning, thus avoiding the traffic to the beaches and the heat.
Points of interest: Portinho Arrábida, Oceanographic Museum and Lapa Santa Margarida.
